Women’s Center
The Women’s Center, located on the third floor of the Mercy Outpatient Services, is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The Center offers patients the most compassionate, comprehensive services with the most up-to-date equipment. Services performed at the center include:
Nuclear Imaging and Cardiology
Headed by a Certified Nuclear Technologist, the Nuclear Imaging and Cardiology Division offer a full range of nuclear medicine diagnostic scans and therapeutic treatments including:
- Multiple Gated Acquisition Scans
- Isotope stress testing
- Stress echocardiography
- Electrocardiogram
- Echocardiogram
- Bone scan
- Thyroid Therapy
PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Technology)
The Center offers patients the latest cutting-edge imaging tools that dramatically reduce scan time from all prior technology. PET/CT provides high quality images produced by the scanner making it easier to monitor patients’ oncology outcomes, without having to perform unnecessary tests. This new technology is also very important when looking at myocardial viability. The PET/CT system is invaluable in treating cancer patients by providing more accurate disease staging and improved therapy planning and monitoring.
Positron Emission Mammography (PEM) Flex system
Mercy Outpatient Center is the first diagnostic center in South Florida to offer this technology in breast cancer diagnosis. This device reduces the number of unnecessary biopsies while overcoming the limitations of the x-ray mammography by offering improved spatial resolution and higher sensitivity at a faster rate. This is NOT a substitute for a mammogram.
CT Scan (Computed Technology)
Mercy Outpatient Services is the first diagnostic center in South Florida to offer CT 64 technology. Mercy Outpatient Services also offers:
- CT Angiography
- Cardiac Scoring
- All Diagnostic CT Scans
Center for Health Promotion
Ideal for on-the-go professionals seeking quick access to healthcare services, the Center for Health Promotion provides wellness exams/evaluations, executive physicals, and travel advisory services.
Wellness Physical Exams
The Center for Health Promotion offers physical examinations designed to meet the needs of professional men and women. The program evaluates the individual’s current health status and lifestyle, identifies risk factors, and offers suggestions for quality living. Physicians conduct the one hour physical examinations Monday through Friday by appointment. The Center then forwards all test results within one week and provides notification of any serious diagnoses within 24 hours. The Center can also perform pre employment physical exams and drug testing.
Executive Physical
This examination is designed for individuals who need a comprehensive physical, but do not have a regular primary care physician. The executive physical can be company sponsored or paid for by the patient.
The comprehensive physical examination includes:
- Lifestyle survey
- complete medical history review
- comprehensive hearing evaluation
- comprehensive laboratory evaluation
- total body composition
- cancer screening
- cancer screening for women may include a mammogram, pap smear, and a pelvic exam
International Travel Clinic
The International Travel Clinic provides a personal comprehensive consultation before traveling abroad to help patients avoid diseases endemic to certain parts of the world.
The Clinic is open to the public and does not require a physician’s referral. To make an appointment, please call (305) 285-2666. Appointments should be made at least four weeks prior to travel dates so that necessary immunizations can be completed.
